Could you be the full-time Manufacturing Manager in Kingston, ON we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive production management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, innovative, and collaborative teammates. You'll lead all manufacturing activities for our projects, making a significant impact on our production flow and project execution ensuirng Quality, Cost, Delivery commitments in compliance with EHS policies. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (supply chain, quality assurance, industrialization, testing, EHS), manage training and hiring for manufacturing personnel, and much more.
You'll play a central role in ensuring the smooth production and delivery of signaling products for one of Canada’s largest public transit transformation projects.
We’ll look to you for:
- Deliver production plan with expected Quality, Cost and Delivery level
- Manage and develop manufacturing team competencies
- Deploy industrial means for product & project manufacturing and test with EHS mind-set
- Ensure application of Signaling Métiers standards (tools, processes, specification)
- Deploy Signalling industrial requirements internally
- Spread best environmental and EHS practices in the team
- Ensure APSYS deployment and maturity development
The main responsibilities during execution are:
Contribution of site manufacturing organization, Industrial QCD Management, Supply chain process definition & validation, Quality plan validation and related Industrialization activities
Preparation of the site manufacturing activities including:
- Manufacturing planning preparation (workload,…)
- Manufacturing resources availability & skills management (staffing, trainings, qualification, …)
- Operators training covering manufacturing & self-inspections
- Finalization of manufacturing preparation
- Continuous improvement of SQCD performance of the manufacturing organization
- Issues Management via MES, assuring corrective actions are closed (e.g. QRQC, …)
- Organization of the execution of changes (design or industrial) to the product
- Products Manufacturing Feedback to support functions in order to improve QCD performance
The main responsibilities for Manufacturing activities are:
- Responsible for manufacturing equipment management (Investment requirements, OEE, Utilization ratio, etc.)
- Contribution to site assets optimization (CAPEX reductions, CAPEX optimizations, Flexible manufacturing lines, etc.)
- Contribution to site/Alstom Indus 4.0 deployment initiatives (AOS, Automation, Digitalization, etc.)
- Responsible for the contribution of the Manufacturing organization to the continuous performance improvement of the site
- Accountable for the on time reporting of the Manufacturing KPI to project and central functions
- Ensuring, with support of the EHS organization, application of all rules concerning environmental protection within the scope of activities of the manufacturing organization
The main responsibilities as hierarchical manager of all employees of the Manufacturing organization are:
- Accountable for time management (presence management and activity management) of all employees, and compliance with local legislation
- Accountable for continuously improving occupational safety of all employees, including contractors (if applicable) working for the manufacturing organization
- Accountable for the development of all employees, which means further development of the qualification matrix for product-related and technology-related processes, as well as general technological and personal qualification
- Accountable for the availability of the required resources, according to workload and production planning
- Accountable for the optimization of the overall workload of the manufacturing organization
- Accountable for the PMC (People Management Cycle) as per HR policy, for the manufacturing organization
- Accountable for the implementation and application of the corporate policies (IRIS, EHS, OHSAS, Ethics and Compliance, etc.), for the manufacturing organization

Engineering degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical. Masters degree in related field prefered

Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing and/or production management for electrical or mechanical devices

Good understanding of operations, supply chain, and logistics processes

Strong knowledge of product/system technical requirements and project management practices
- Experience in Railway industry, preferably within an industrialization environment for signaling products prefered
- Previous operational position in a manufacturing site as a Production or Line Manager

Experience working with SAP or similar systems

Strong communication and organizational skills
