Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside skilled and supportive teammates.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our rolling stock systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Depot Management, Engineering, and Customer teams), conduct diagnostics and repairs, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of performing physical and functional diagnostics to identify failures and root causes, but also documenting troubleshooting steps and maintaining accurate technical records.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Implementing field modifications according to instructions (including tests, if required)

  • Ensuring the use of valid/calibrated tools

  • Populating relevant modification follow-up databases and reporting information to the Field Modification Coordinator-Leader & PI Customer Site Manager

  • Maintaining effective information flow within the field modification team (e.g., shift handover)

  • Performing quality self-inspections

  • Adhering to EHS rules (Environment Health & Safety rules) and work-related processes

  • Ensuring risk assessments and safe systems of work are available

  • Reporting any deviations or non-conformities associated with field modifications

  • Ensuring all necessary parts, tools, and documents are available prior to starting modifications

  • Supporting troubleshooting activities during validation, commissioning, warranty, and service phases

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in a relevant technical field

  • Experience or understanding of diagnostics and troubleshooting for rolling stock systems

  • Knowledge of defect management systems (e.g., RailSys Light, GSI, Maximo)

  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and test benches

  • A commitment to adhering to EHS requirements (including LockOut-TagOut procedures)

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Ability to maintain accurate technical records and documentation

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Progress towards roles such as Field Modification Coordinator or Engineering Specialist

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
