Purpose of the job :

 

Tooling Specialist would be responsible for the management of the production tooling and fixtures used by external producers. This position will support all activities related to production tooling from specific requirements preparation, onboarding new tools through planning repairs and improvements in support of ongoing production. Tooling Specialist will assist addressing Quality & Internal Factories feedback related to issues with components by implementing tooling improvement actions. Specialist will develop effective maintenance strategies, methods and procedures while working with all global stakeholders.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Key accountabilities 

 

  • Apply Signalling Product Industrialization Process and define Industrial Requirements specification

  • Prepare and issue detailed RFQ’s to regional and global tooling suppliers for new and existing components, 

  • Assess and manage the performance of the components and assemblies production tooling suppliers, 

  • Support industrial sustainability of Product during life cycle

  • Maintain an adequate network of specialized production tooling producers, 

  • Create and maintain D&IS “Production Tooling Standards”, 

  • Provide support during tdesign phase to enhance the manufacturability of the components, 

  • Create, maintain and manage D&IS supply chain production tooling database for monitoring tooling assets performance, 

  • Ensure all existing tooling is maintained, repaired, and modified to minimize unplanned downtime and quality concerns, 

  • Manage production tooling issues and report status on open activities, 

 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Engineering degree (Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar)

  • Business Software and production technologies knowledge 

  • Technical writing skills (Experience in tooling fabrication, design and validation)

  • Data management 

  • Ability to create and manage databases (e.g. SQL), 

  • Ability to build a strong network of contacts across the business, 

  • Strong technical writing skills 

  • Keen and dynamic person, self-managed with excellent problem solving, structured and able to lead activities, 

  • Ability to use engineering data for decision-making process 

  • Ability to communicate efficiently at a professional and technical level within the business network 

  • Ability to lead self-managed activities 

  • Excellent problem-solving in a structured manner
