Your future role
In this role, you will report directly to the Nordics and CEE RAM Department Head and, as the RAM reference for CEE business, you will be assigned to the CEE Engineering Director to whom you will report as dotted line.
Internally, you will interface with the Projects and Programs Core teams, the Engineering Métiers (System, Hardware, Software, Verification & Validation, etc.), but also with the Cybersecurity, Safety, Tenders, Sourcing, Installation, Warranty & Maintenance teams.
You will also be in contact with customers, suppliers and subcontractors, and with the worldwide D&IS RAM community.
You will join the Alstom Digital & Integrated Systems (D&IS) product line as RAM Group Manager to lead a team of 3 to 10 RAM engineers on the Katowice site for the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region where R&D programs and customer projects are delivered. You will contribute to the design and the improvement of the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Testability performance of our projects, systems and products.
The successful candidate will lead all the RAM activities from the Tender, Design and Operational phases to ensure that our solutions are reliable, maintainable and available. For this, you will ensure that the best architectures are defined to satisfy the RAM performance requirements, customer’s needs and operational conditions. You will also guarantee the implementation of a risk control for each requirement related to RAM and that reliability growth activities in projects and programs are continuously correctly implemented.
To assure the optimal performance level of our systems, you will be accountable for the main Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Testability aspects over the lifecycle phases of the solutions.
We’ll look to you for:
- Manage a team of RAM Engineers (3 to 10 persons)
- Implement the Alstom D&IS RAM rules, guidelines and animate the growth of the RAM discipline locally
- Act as the Local RAM Process Correspondent for CEE region
- Ensure the correct application of Alstom standard RAM Process, Methods, Tools
- Manage the RAM team workload and workforce balance (skills, capacity, hiring process, etc.)
- Develop the RAM outsourcing capabilities as needed
- Commit to Quality Cost Delivery for Tenders, Projects and Programs RAM activities
- Guarantee the high level of quality of the RAM activities and deliverables
- Execute RAM activities on some tenders, programs and projects
- Provide RAM technical expertise, review the RAM issues and support the root cause analysis process
- Ensure internal and external Customer satisfaction and RAM acceptance.

- Advanced University or Engineering degree is mandatory, ideally in Dependability (RAM or RAMS)
- At least 5 years of successful experience in RAM assurance (projects and/or programs), preferably in Railway Signaling
- Specific hands-on experience in RAM and Mastering RAM methodology and principles,
- Experience in team management, effort estimation, ability to delegate activities and manage priorities
- Organized, structured, and good ability to decide
- Ability to support the team when needed and to support/elaborate plan/solution to deliver
- Fully proficient in English and Polish.
