Could you be the full-time Technical Author for Maintenance and Operation in Kassel we’re looking for?

Your future role

More than 35,000 locomotives have already travelled the world from Kassel. At Alstom's traditional site in Kassel, in addition to new construction, service for the well-known Traxx locomotive platform is playing an increasingly important role. Our product line Services offers a complete range of solutions to maximise the value of customer assets. Our offerings cover the entire lifecycle of the asset, from design and build, to operation, to end of life.  You’ll report to Joachim Köhler, Head of Documentation & Training, and work alongside enthusiastic and forward-thinking teammates.

We’ll look for you to:

  • Organize content in a modern Content Management System to realize a maximum reuse of information
  • Independent implementation of customer requirements, including the requirements of the contracts
  • Analyse and implement feedback from assessors and authorities out of the locomotive authorization process (Safety-relevant application conditions (SRACS))
  • Check maintenance records for the vehicle and for the systems for completeness and formal correctness
  • Autonomous creation of mounting/demounting instructions according to drawings and research on the vehicles

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Relevant experience in technical writing (authoring and editing)
  • Skills in working with a Content Management System
  • Desired competences: teamwork, problem solving, communication, building partnerships
  • Fluency in German and English
