Purpose of the Job:

For Electronic Products under ALSTOM Villeurbanne Design Authority:

Ensure the interface between ALSTOM Villeurbanne & both ALSTOM Ubunye and GIBELA Rail sites to assist South Africa teams for industrial purpose and for Test & Commissioning (T&C) of trains activities in South Africa.

 

Position in the Organisation

Organizational & Reporting:

The Job Holder will hierarchically report to the T&C/Warranty manager in Gibela & Functionally report to the ALSTOM Villeurbanne Project Manager.

 

Network & Links:

Member of the ALSTOM Villeurbanne Core Team, he will interface with Project team, Industrial & test team and Service team.

In South Africa, he will work with Industrial & Test team in ALSTOM Ubunye, and Project Engineering team (mainly Test & Commissioning) in GIBELA.

On all sites interface with Quality teams.

Missions

Objectives:

Ubunye site:

Industrial missions for all products under Alstom Villeurbanne responsibility

  • Assist Industrial and Test teams in Alstom Ubunye to deliver on time quality products to Gibela.
  • Interface Alstom Villeurbanne Industrial & Test teams (serial production and repair) with Alstom Ubunye teams: First level of interface between sites,
  • Train Ubunye teams, follow & solve problem identified in South Africa, ensure test benches are fully operational, …
  • Ensure Alstom Villeurbanne Process and methods are understood and respected during serial production and repair activities
  • Ensure that locally supplied parts have the same level of quality than parts supplied in other countries

 

Gibela site:

Test & Commissioning missions for all systems under Alstom Villeurbanne Design Authority

  • Assist T&C teams in Gibela to solve problems for which Villeurbanne products are involved
  • Train T&C teams in South Africa on Villeurbanne Products, tools, …
  • Follow and perform 8D (Quality Issues) activities (Monitoring / maintenance actions on demand), driven from Alstom Villeurbanne.
  • Interface with Alstom Villeurbanne and Bangalore Engineering teams on Passenger Announcement and Control Information System (PACIS), Traction & Brake system, Train to Ground communications (T2G), Train Control and Monitoring Systems (TCMS), …
  • Perform all tests, investigations, measurement, driven from Engineering teams in Alstom Villeurbanne.
  • Support for train tests for new displays supplied by Teleste.

Requirements

Educational Requirements:

Junior Engineer – A solid technical background is required – Computer or industrial or automatism school
You must have a solid level of English (spoken and written)

 

Technical Knowledge / Experience:

Industrial experience or Railway experience would be a plus
