PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Test Lab Technician shall be responsible for the execution of general testing works, analyzing of test results as well as fault finding and carrying out electrical repair work where required

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

HV and Functional Tests of Electrical Panels/Cubicles

  • Setting up and wiring the equipment for testing.
  • Performing functional tests.
  • Carry out repair work where necessary.
  • Carrying out the wiring test and the dielectric test.
  • Downloading of operation and application software to the DCU / VCU-C.
  • System and Function check (MVB communication, Ethernet communication, binary and analog feedback signals, status messages, etc.) according to the test instructions.
  • Interpretation of diagnostic data in case of failures.
  • Documentation of the measured values to the test report.
  • Inspection of the used measuring devices. Ensure that test procedures and tools configuration are managed during the project lifecycle
  • Ensures T&C procedures comply with EHS Policy and Site EHS Management System
  • Participates in EHS activities on shop floor.
  • Clear and Exhaustive understanding of the Customer Acceptance Criteria.
  • Implement REX (Return of Experience) from Test & Commissioning phase of the project.
  • Ensure Interface and perfect working relationship with engineering project team, Site Industrial, Warranty Implementation team, Site Logistics and Industrial Support to Warranty teams, Quality, Site Validation team.
  • Support the T&C Operations team, for the implementation and execution of the Testing Procedures

 

  • Performance measurement:
  • S - Test procedures are safe
  • Q - % rework of test procedures
  • C - Respect of allocated budget
  • D - Testing procedure and tools on time delivery

 

Analyzing, recording and filing of test results

  • Ensure that technical documentation is accurate and complete.

 

Execution of failure analysis and repair works

  • Causal analysis of incidents.
  • Finding faulty devices (and replacing them).
  • Documentation of failure and repair reports.
  • Recognizing manufacturing errors and finding corrective actions.

 

Technical Reporting

  • Compiling of technical reports.

 

Other tasks

  • Perform other task assigned to her by the Head of Methods, Testing and Facility

 

 

 

 

 

 

 MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Electrical trade qualification
  • Technical education preferably Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma.
  • Technician for power electronics and / or drive controls with good IT knowledge.
  • Tooling, engineering, manufacturing engineering and engineering change management will be advantageous but not compulsory

Desirable:

  • At least two years’ experience in a position as an electrical tester of electrical panels/cubicles

Experience

Mandatory:

Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

 

Desirable:

  • Be familiar with high risk activities in association with Electrical work and EHS requirements

Competencies & Skills:

  • Typically 2 – 3 years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Engineering and manufacturing processes and tools,
  • IT-Systems,
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • 3P workshops
  • Kaizen methodology
  • Design manufacturing and lean production knowledge.
  • Knowledge of IT Systems, design documents(Circuit diagram)
  • PLC programming, controls and troubleshooting
  • Power electronics
  • Supply Chain requirements. Understanding of interfacing functions
  • Basic knowledge of converter and cubicles technology
  • Good knowledge and handling of PC-systems:
  • Handling of different PC communication ports (settings of LAN IP-Address, settings of COM-Ports, settings of  LPT-Port), installing and handling of test-specific softwares (e.g. DCU-Term, FTool, MAPP-Tool)
  • Handling of data bases (Part lists, test- / failure- / repair-reports)
