Bombela Maintenance is looking to recruit 1 x Senior Technician.
The purpsoe of this position is to ensure safe, reliable and available trains as per customer requirements, primarily through preventative maintenance and repairs.
This role will be based at the Gautrain Maintenance Depot in Midrand, Johannesburg.
YOUR ROLE:
- Safety and Quality Assurance: compliance with safety standards and procedures, zero incidents and equipment damage, meeting reliability and quality standards, and reporting safety-relatedissues and near misses
- Corrective and Prevenative Maintenance: Assist chief technician with corrective and preventative maintenance tasks as and when required. Perform data acquisition and analysis. Repair or replace faulty components accoriding to specifications. Read Schematics and drawings (electronical, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical)
- MAXIMO and GSI administration and reporting: extracting and interpreting information, find / create and close work orders, capturing failure reports and time spent, and providing real-time, accurate, and comprehensive system information.
- Train Rescue and re-railing: Work under the instruction of the PIC during train rescue and adhoc re-railing operations
- Materials, tools and equipment: Book tools in and out of store, ensure equipment is in good working condition and reprt and faulty tool and material.
- Effective Self mangement: take ownership and accounatbility for tasks and activities. Follow through to ensure quality and productivity standards of won work are consistently and accurately maintaned.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Electrical Engineering National Diploma or Qualified Artisan
- 3 – 4 post qualification experience in related fields: Railway experience will be an advantage
- Advanced Computer Literacy and Information Systems
- Advanced Computer System Diagnostic Skills
- Knowledge of Maintenance Systems and Processes
- Good Interpersonal and Communication Skills
- Knowledge of Act 85 of Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Sound electronics knowledge
- Good knowledge of hand-tools
- Ability to see in colour
- Ability to work at heights
- Fit and robust (working with big heavy equipment)
- Ability to work shifts.
- Ability to read schematics and wiring diagram
