Purpose of the Job:

Design of Electrical Schematics and Cabling of the train, which  included design of low voltage functional (relay) circuitry.  Specification and verification of electrical components.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Defines, with support of the Control Engineer, the train schematic diagrams and cable loom design including HV, MV, LV and data network cabling.
  • Defines the cabling space allocation with Train Design Engineer, and subsequent main geometrical harness characteristics and mechanical integration requirements.
  • Drafts the equipment & electrical apparatus list
  • Is able to select appropriate basic electrical components (relays, connectors, switches, lights, fans, etc.) as well as write the electrical specifications of the components
  • Drafts the key elements of the cabling verification plan, focusing on the main technical risks
  • Deploys and applies the Electrical Standard Design Processes and tools (E3S and ELSA).
  • Organizes Design / Verification reviews and provides the associated reports.
  • Initiates action plans to solve issues
  • Supports Manufacturing, Sourcing, Commissioning, Warranty and Maintenance Services on Electrical Engineering issues as required.

 

Performance Measurement

  • On-time delivery of schematic modifications and designs
  • Compliance with the identified requirements
  • Timely treatment of open issues

 

Education and Experience

  1. N4 minimum in Electrical
  2. At least 2 years of electrical CAD experience in a large industrial project (railway background advantageous)
  3. Previous CAD experience in low voltage relay circuit design.
