We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Material Planning Officer position within the Services Department. The position will report to the TSSSA Material Planning Manager and is based in Randjespark (Midrand).

 

Job Purpose

The purpose of the job is for the successful candidate to communicate delivery schedules (call off) to suppliers based on MRP system requirements and collect daily their commitments. He/she will monitor all gaps to anticipate and treat missing parts with key suppliers. Is also responsible for all activities pertaining to the parameters review, procurement and materials planning for production

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute TSSSA Material planning and Inventory strategies and coordination with Industrialization and Operations
  • Define parts typology (based on ABC, variability, business type...etc) for defining planning tactics and to support Line replenishment.
  • Participate to the Engineering Change committee – guarantee proper plan of material changes.
  • Apply the end to end Procure to Pay process and monitor efficiency and compliance.
  • Key Performance Indicators monitoring and reporting and continuous improvement activity for planning.
  • Analyze Inventory content for correcting planning strategies.
  • Implement and manage improvement plan in regard of Inventory reduction.
  • Leadership and coordination of missing parts anticipation process and missing parts root cause analysis
  • Manage Team of MRP planners to support TSSSA assigned activities and project
  • Develop & encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team
  • Align supply and demand to achieve a smooth flow of material to support maintenance activities on train >Customer OTIF
  • Align Material requirements planning with business strategic goal >maintaining low levels of Inventories without compromising availability of spare >OTIF and profit generation
  • Track & manage order acknowledgement receipts
  • Active participation in supplier selection process ensuring the execution of supply chain performance requirements
  • Manage procurement and material master data creation and maintenance
  • Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators and continuous improvement activity for procurement / SRM (supplier relationship management)
  • Run meetings with supplier on OTIF
  • Manage supplier invoicing ensuring adherence to the companies P2P/invoicing policy

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or N3 related qualification
  • Undergraduate degree/SAQA accredited NQF  7 qualifications in supply chain management/procurement management
  • Previous working experience of 3-5 years, working in a supply chain environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Supply chain processes especially in warehouse & material flows
  • ERP System - SAP
  • Proficient in MS Office tools
  • Strong negotiation & leadership skills
  • Active team player, deadline driven, process driven
