The Track Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of mainline tracks, special track work, switch machines, tunnels, structures, power rails, reaction rails, drainage and walkways. The track technician is also responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy rail vehicles that includes disel and hydraculic components.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on yard and mainline tracks, switches, switch machines, power rails, reaction rails and structures. Maintain and repair heavy rail vehicles that include disel and hydraculic systems.
  • Implements work permits & occupancy permits in accordance with Company policies, procedures and safety rules.
  •  Operates road & rail vehicles, heavy equipment such as belt grinders, block grinders, speeders and unimogs.
  • Interprets maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics and drawings. Accounts for all time & materials in MAXIMO used to complete maintenance tasks and sign off on work as being completed to standard.
  • Is responsible for adhering to all safety rules and procedures.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent, specialized training in either electrical or mechanical from a recognized instiution. Intermediate level of skills using windows operating applications, minimum qualifying score on ACT Aptitude tests

 

Conditions: 

This is a shift position that supports a 24/7 operation and is subject to random alcohol and drug testing. The Track Technician must meet physical requirements to perform essential tasks of position, must be able to distinguish colors and pass a 10 year background check.
