Job Title:           Lead Signaling Engineer

 

Job Location:   4901 Belfort Road, Jacksonville, Florida, 32256 and various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States

 

Job Type:          Full Time

 

Duties:  Design new and modified signal systems; define specifications for new and modified systems; investigate, troubleshoot, and provide recommendations in resolving complex, unique, and major project problems; provide technical leadership to individuals or teams in resolving project problems; advise and provide technical direction on assigned projects to other technical staff; develop designs including electro-mechanical circuit design, relay-based and/or application based logic, HW and SW interfaces, material selection, and equipment rack layouts; interface with contacts (vendors, subcontractors and prime contractors on technical matters) to achieve Alstom developmental / logistic goals; assist in generating schedule, budget, and product/system specifications; review specification documents and assist in generating technical proposals and cost estimates; maintain project related files, documents, and revision control materials; develop project related requirements for new or modified product design; develop and provide accurate material lists per requirements; troubleshoot issues identified during factory field testing; and offer possible technical solutions. 

 

Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; and three years of work experience in job offered or three years of work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include one year of experience with each of the following:

1.           Experience in developing systems design and books of plans for train control systems in freight, commuter, and transit railway systems;

2.           Experience in interpreting and working from systems description documents for hardware and software design;

3.           Experience in developing, testing, and verifying software and application logic for vital and non-vital train control systems for railway properties;

4.           Experience with application of individual hardware components and subsystems of train control systems including vital relays, energy systems, wayside signals, switch machines, and track circuits;

5.           Experience in developing engineering labor estimates, quotes, and technical proposal documents for tendering;

6.           Experience with FRA and AREMA signal engineering standards and practices;

7.           Experience with microprocessor based interlocking systems; and

8.           Experience developing and proposing project methodologies.

Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
