Responsibilities

Techical Missions:

Accountable for:

  • Respect of normative references.
  • Upon request, review of contractual documents and identification of any areas requiring particular structural attention

such as :

  • unusual track cross-sections at grade, in tunnel and on elevated structures
  • special sections to reduce vibration emissions
  • transition areas between typical sections or at expansion joints
  • particular client or environmental constraints (example seismic)
  • `constraints arising from applicable rules in a specific city or country
  • Review of the different structural approaches proposed by the structural engineer and checking of the final one taking account the constructability criteria.
  • Review and/or support to the definition of the concrete mix designs and reinforcement types.
  • Review and/or support to constructive principles related to concrete: joints’ types and positions, crack initiation,
  • interfaces between slabs superposed or between slab and support

Responsible for:

  • Justify higher level of structural expertise in front of track design manager, partners, ALSTOM sub-systems and client if required.
  • Review/Optimisation of technical specifications and plans for both in-house construction and sub-contractors.
  • Obtain approval of technical documents (calculation notes & drawings) and support the structural engineer if required.
  • Support the PrEM in his coordination with other entities (other ALSTOM activities/ civil work partners…) for the technical aspects of the track interfaces and especially with the civil works.

During track construction, accountable for:

  • Review of the concrete mix designs defined and plants.
  • Support to technical structural open issues resolution on site, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure.

 

Knowledge & Experience :

Educational : Graduate from Engineering school in topography/civil science
3 years minimum civil-structural engineering experience

3 years minimum trackwork design experience in railway

Project and/or construction experience preferred
Geotechnical and/or structural calculation knowledge is required

Track alignment knowledge will be a plus.
Computering skills : Microsoft Office pack, AutoCAD, SAP 2000 is required.

 

Behavioural and Technical Skills:
Good team spirit and communication skills .
Autonomy, motivated, initiative, and interested in technical topics

Fluent English, second language appreciated.
