Your future role

You'll play a key role in delivering state-of-the-art telecom systems for railway networks. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, project management, and civil works partners), supervise site activities, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of leading the Installation, Testing, and Commissioning of telecom systems such as TCP/IP, IP-MPLS, CCTV, Video Management Systems, Public Address Systems, and GSMR systems, but also support the development of telecom architectures and solutions for tenders and projects.
We’ll look to you for:

Coordinating activities of subcontractors on project planning and civil works activities, and reporting to the regional Telecom Engineering head and Project Management

Supervising and inspecting site telecommunications activities to ensure execution aligns with approved plans and standards
-
Performing field inspections to ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and approved work methods
-
Managing handover processes/documentation and supporting the commissioning team during testing phases
-
Analyzing requirements and proposing cost-effective solutions
-
Ensuring designs are compatible with health and safety standards
-
Coordinating with other entities for technical aspects of interfaces, especially with civil works partners
-
Resolving technical open issues on-site, from investigation to modification implementation

Supporting ongoing Telecom activities for projects and ensuring compliance with Alstom standards

Maintaining and coordinating As-Built Documentation submissions
-
Planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling design, configuration, maintenance, testing, and commissioning activities for telecommunication systems
-
Interfacing with customers and engineers on design and commissioning status
-
Deploying and sizing networks (fiber optic transmission and other physical deployments)

Monitoring and maintaining network performance and quality

Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent

Knowledge of network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, media converters, etc.)

Understanding of associated protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, LAN-WAN) and routing principles (static & dynamic)
-
CCNA & CCNP certification (preferred)
-
Experience in telecom subsystems and interfaces (railway systems experience is a plus)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including with third parties
-
Structured and organized with a hands-on approach

Extensive working knowledge of complex network design (wired and wireless)

Experience with network architecture and design

Understanding of switching and routing protocols

Knowledge of wireless communications in demanding scenarios
-
Experience managing medium-to-large projects and project teams
-
Familiarity with test and commissioning processes

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Experience in railway signalling systems (preferred)
