Job Title: Power Supply Project Engineering manager _PrEM
Purpose of the Job: As “Power Supply project Engineering Manager _PrEM”, in the context of projects; you will be responsible for overall power Supply technical management of a project (metro, tramway or mainline).
And assist the “System Engineering Manager ” in his role of performing overall project engineering and Support the project manager .
Organisation Reporting:
The position reports hierarchically to the “Power Supply and OCS Engineering Manager_ AMECA ”.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Project Engineering Manager is responsible for Managing Project Engineering activities by delivering the Engineering Work Package in compliance with the Engineering Quality Cost and Delivery (QCD) commitment. His/her responsibilities include:
- Accountable for the technical decisions taken with his/her team, especially during Engineering and Cross-functional processes in a manufacturing environment such as Engineering release, NCR, Vendor Concession request etc.
- Reviewing and approving all technical submissions, including as a member of CCB, applicable modifications on the product, and updating QCD accordingly
- Supporting the teams to ensure that the built is according to design
- Representing power supply Engineering among project core team and manages interfaces with Project representatives of other functions (such as Sourcing, Quality, Planning etc.) and other Project Engineering Managers of Alstom units based overseas.
- Representing Alstom power supply Project Engineering in front of customers to provide a global view of design progress, issues, risks.
- Providing to management regular reporting and performance analysis.
- Managing functionally the power supply project engineering core team and their commitment to the project.
- Providing to workload manager regular updates on project engineering firm workload including forecasted internal and external change orders
- Escalating to Métiers, critical engineering, and staffing issues.
- Responsible for engineering work package management working collaboratively with Project Finance Controller
- Managing the Global Scheduling Convergence, with support of Engineering Planner
- Is responsible for engineering points within Project Gate Reviews and puts in place necessary actions required to mitigate a NoGo risk.
- Responsible for managing Engineering risks mitigation and savings action plans.
- Able to manage complex electrical subsystems such as Traction, MV/LV , Automation and installation etc updates through power supply platforms with an understanding of System for Metro/Tram and main line and complete electrical subsystem.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably electrical and electronics ) or similar. Registered Professional Engineer is desirable. Master’s degree will be added advantage .
- Significant experience in power supply for Metro/Tram and main line , including design, system integration, and validation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify critical tasks & issues and take action to ensure execution, delivery, and follow-up.
- Excellent people and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Background of working within a complex international environment would be an advantage.
