Job Title:  Requirement And Configuration Engineer  

 

Purpose of the Job: As “Requirement And Configuration Engineer  ”, in the context of projects; you will be performing the basic and detailed RM and CM  activities of a traction project (metro, tramway or mainline).

And assist the “Project Power Supply engineering manager_ PrEM ” in his role of performing overall power supply project engineering.

Manage all the RM and CM  interfaces civil and MEP partners/contractors and suppliers

Support RM and CM   process for site installation and testing and commissioning teams .

 

The position consists in:

Managing all requirement management activities for a project which includes:

Deployment and application of Alstom standard processes and tools
RM tool set up according to project requirements
Training and support on process and tool for the project team
Owner of RM plan and RTM demonstrating the solution compliancy to contract requirements through requirement traceability along the project engineering cycle
Process correspondent for Supplier  PO

Managing all configuration and change management activities for a project which includes:

Deployment and application of Alstom standard processes and tool
Change management tool set up according to project requirements
Training and support on process and tool for the project team
Owner of Change management plan
Support project team in managing change requests
participate CCB
Process correspondent for PO
Depending on the size and complexity of the projects, the requirement and configuration manager might support multiple projects at the same time.
Spot support to tenders is also expected.

Accountabilities

People : No direct report

 

Responsibilities :

Ensure application of ALSTOM standard Requirement and Configuration Management processes and tools

Manage project requirements from Notice to Proceed to the Final Quality Approval.

Manage configuration management from Notice to Proceed to the Final Quality Approval.

Implement RM and CM tools in accordance to project needs and Alstom standards

Be the Process Correspondent for AMECA  power supply  organization

Provide process and tool training to engineering staff of AMECA  Project office

Provide project team members with proper and efficient support on tools and processes

Ensure full project requirement traceability

Coordinate with various system leaders and allocate the requirements and verify the requirements are implemented in design/supplier design and proof are recorded and validated.

Coordinate with Construction  and testing and commissioning leaders  and allocate the requirements and verify the requirements are implemented in procedure and test reports and proof are recorded and validated.

Own Requirement Management Plan and Requirement Traceability Matrix

Report requirement traceability status and impact analysis to Project engineering manager

Own project Configuration Management plan

Organize and chair Configuration Control meetings

Manage changes and anomalies as per Alstom Standard and project standards

Manage baselines and releases as per Alstom Standard and project standards

Report progress as per KPIs

 

Educational Requirements

Engineering Degree

 

Desired Knowledge / Experience

Knowledge of Requirement Management Principles and processes preferably acquired on engineering projects

Minimum 3 years’ experience Requirement Management and Change Management  in infrastructure projects . Minimum one railway project experience

Knowledge of DOORS or similar Requirement Management tools

Knowledge of Configuration and Change Management Principles and processes preferably acquired on engineering projects

Knowledge of ADVITIUM, CLEARQUEST or similar Configuration and Change Management environments

Rail power supply , depot and  track work basic  engineering
