Overall Mission:

  • Bid Manager is in charge to prepare and deliver a winning QCD as per Alstom's internal methods and tools in terms of Bid / Tender Management;
  • Bid Manager is in charge to transverally lead a Bid Core team and drive all the members, through a winning spirit, up to the contract signature (and hand over to the Project Core team);
  • Bid Manager is expected to interface with many metiers and various stakeholders, both internal and external;
  • Bid Manager is expected to be open-minded, business oriented, multi-site / multi-cultural worker while bringing innovation and value-creation at work.


Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Manage Tender Preparation in line with Platform and Solutions strategy with the support of the Bid team (Bid Technical Manager & Bid Cost Manager) while following Tender Leader and/or Customer Director instructions;
  • Analyse the RFP (Request for Proposal) issued by Customer and define the bid operational strategy taking into account the commercial strategy defined by the Tender Leader and/or the Customer Director plus the (platform) Solutions Director;
  • Propose PIO (Project Industrial Organisation), partnership / consortium strategies and external system purchases to the (platform) Bids Director to get his / her validation;
  • Commit on a QCD after having reviewed the complete bid with the Bid team (Bid Technical Manager and Bid Cost Manager);
  • Coordinate with support functions such as Legal, Finance, Insurance and Tax to deliver optimized Costs / Price, Cash Curve and Customer Price List;
  • Identify, analyse and register the Risks & Opportunities;
  • Ensure that “Execute Tender” process are followed;
  • Ensure the Bid is validated as per “Execute Tender” process;
  • Evaluate TCB (Tender Cost Budget) and make sure it is respected;
  • Pro-actively follow the Customer negotiations and evolution of the offer and communicate on the changes, re-launch the approval process after having analysed the QCD impact of the changes;
  • Issue the TTM (Tender Transfer meeting) reflecting the contract as concluded and contribute to build on RoE (Return of Experience).


Expected Qualifications:

  • Educational: Master Degree of Engineering;
  • Experience: minimum of 5 years either in the same industry (i.e. Railway Business) or same function (e.g. Bid or Project Management);
  • Communication, both verbal and written: high level;
  • Languages:
    • English: advanced level;
    • Arabic (plus): medium level;
    • Turkish (plus): high level.



  • Mobility: yes, for Business Trips all over MEA region and its countries plus France (as company HQ) and several European countries such as Italy or Spain or Beligium (as participating units).
