AMECA Power Supply (POS) Engineering Manager
Purpose of the Job
AMECA (Africa, Middle east and Central Asia) Power Supply (POS) Engineering Manager provides guidance and leadership to Project POS Engineering Managers and Design Managers working on delivery of power supply and catenary designs for regional projects and tenders. He/she will support Project Technical Managers and Project Director in all technical matters to mitigate risks associated to engineering works including Infrastructure Engineering, requirement, configuration and interface management with other subsystems.
Scope: AMECA Region Projects and Tender activities.
- To manage AMECA region POS engineering teams
- Develop tender documents and Bill of materials
- Participate in technical review of supplier offers
- Contribute in tender costing and planning and risk evaluation.
- Pilots the technical aspects of the Projects or Tenders
- The AMECA POS Engineering Manager shall lead the POS engineering and the transport system solution in AMECA region for the projects and tenders,
- Create close coordination with the Company central team and metier leaders
- From other region same to be responsible for the checking, coordination and follow up of the Power Supply (POS) Engineering works in all design stages such as Concept, Preliminary, Detailed and As-Built of the Project. Manage and coordinate POS engineering teams mobilized for the Project in all project locations
- To be responsible for hiring any future technical resources for the effective delivery of the POS engineering deliverables and in the development of the technical skills of the team
- To be responsible for Managing the design teams and applying relevant HR cycle processes (definition of objectives, development plans …)
- To be responsible for the application of the Design for Quality policy and of the various Engineering quality process and reaching the Quality and targets for the Projects
- To be responsible for reviewing and checking of the produced documents by design teams and sub-contractors (if any) including, and not limited to, drawings, calculations and bill of quantities in all design stages and verifies them before delivery
- Produce weekly and monthly reports for POS Engineering projects, tenders and maintenance engineering across the AMECA region
- To apply the revisions, norms and standard applications on projects and tenders
- To be able to provide technical support to installation and sourcing teams, when necessary
- Prepare and update of budget according to design process and technical detail
- Manage/Supervise subcontractor POS design teams
- Organize and monitor project design management (schedules, budgets, quality)
- Communicate with internal and external entities
- Prepare training plans and organize training sessions and develop the team technical and personnel abilities
- Increase service and maintenance engineering process, knowledge and activities within Alstom
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably master’s degree in related engineering discipline
- More than 15 years’ experience in Power Supply technical managerial positions in international Metro, Tram or Mainline projects.
- Experienced in the leadership of large multinational teams in turnkey projects
- Have good experineces on Medium Voltage, DC Traction Systems and Low Voltage design and executed design activities
- Have a skills on Remote management
- Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and Experience of Underground Railways systems are strength
- Fluent in English; French and/or Arabic will be an asset
- Motivated, takes initiative, and interested in technical topics
- Demonstrates a Pragmatic approach to complex topics
- No restriction to travel within or out of Middle East and Africa Region
Localization:
The position is located in Istanbul (Turkey) including regular business trip to visit the projects and the clients in the AMECA region (KSA, UAE, Qatar, Israel, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, South Africa, Kazakhstan, etc.), Can and will have a close coordination with Railways, Signaling, Systems and Infrastructure experts based in Other countries/regions.
