ORGANIZATIONAL REPORTING

The Trainee will report to the Project & Export Manager, within the Treasury organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will provide assistance to the Project & Export Finance Managers. The variety of duties performed will be strongly linked to the day-to-day activity of the PEF department

In close partnership with legal, fiscal & tender control support functions and ensuring compliance with Alstom policies, the Trainee will be asked to assist PEF Managers Region who interfere in 3 business levels:

 I - Business Development level

 II - Tender Phase Level

 III - Contract Implementation Phase level

The scope of the position will include but will not be limited to:

- Financial analysis / creditworthiness of our financial customers and partners

·        Assisting in assessing the financial risks arising from any bid to be submitted and to set-up

a risk mitigation plan and associated costs throughout the life of the tender up to the coming into force of a contract

·        Structuring & delivering Project and Export Financing Offer

·        Providing negotiation support to sales and project teams at all stages of a contract (from business development to project execution)

·        Implementing or assistance to payment securities, credit insurance policies, Financing during contract execution

·        Establishing a company’s “customer finance” strategy by optimizing sources of funds and ECA support according to the industrial footprint and customers’ profiles

·        Building and maintain trusted relationships both inside and outside the organization

Furthermore, the Trainee position carries the possibility to interface with:

·       Export Credit Agencies

·       Brokers for Private Insurance coverage

·       International banks and financing institutions

·       Support Functions: Tender Control, Tax, Legal, Project Audit

·       Regional sales organization and Finance: Finance VP and Country FDs, Regional Treasurers, Business

·       Development, Customer Directors, Tender Leader, Bid Managers

·       Operations: Site controllers, Project Controllers, Bid managers

·       Funding & Treasury / Tax / Tender & Project Control / Bonds & Guarantees / Dealing Room

SKILLS AND EDUCATION

Essential:

·        Preparing or holding post-graduate diploma in Finance or Business School

·        In addition to French & English (both mandatory), Spanish or German would be a plus

·        Previous field experience as a Trainee in a bank or a financial institution would be appreciated

Technical Skills:

The successful candidate holds or prepares a Master degree in Trade and MLT Finance and/or Sales

Behavior skills:

·       Strong and conclusive education backgrounds

·       Commitment to undertake on and off the job training over the duration of the traineeship

·       Autonomy and team spirit

·       Quick learner

·       High degree of self-organization

·       Accountable, result-oriented, cooperative and team focus.

·       Ability to communicate with all levels of management within the company as well as with

        outside stakeholders
