Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your leadership and team management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, motivated, and goal-oriented teammates.
You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the successful maintenance, servicing, and renovation of rolling stock and infrastructure. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Quality Managers, Industrial Teams, and Customer Representatives), manage team performance, and ensure safety and quality standards are met, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of leading and coordinating your team to meet service demands, but also support continuous improvement initiatives and team development.
We’ll look to you for:

Leading all aspects of the team in maintenance and servicing to meet customer requirements within the working timetable.

Delivering start-of-shift and end-of-shift briefings to team members.

Coordinating the deployment of team members to ensure smooth shift operations.
-
Upholding site safety and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and standards.

Providing real-time updates to the Production Manager on work progress, deviations, and adverse events.

Ensuring all documentation and processes are completed to the required standards.

Facilitating regular team communication and providing feedback on performance.

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and identifying smarter ways of working.

Ensuring team members have the necessary skills and training to perform their roles effectively.

Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (e.g., Higher National Certificate, Ordinary National Certificate, City & Guilds, or recognized equivalent).

In-depth understanding of rail depot and rail industry operations.

Proven experience in fleet, maintenance, or renovation within an operational role.

Knowledge of Network Rail rules and regulations, H&SAWA, COSHH, and local safety procedures.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in IT tools and systems.

Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under stringent timelines.

Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
