Could you be the full-time Skilled Service Staff Member to join our maintenance team in Ilford and help ensure our rail vehicles remain safe, efficient, and reliable?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge in Ilford and apply your maintenance expertise in a hands-on rail environment. You’ll report to the Team Leader and work alongside a skilled and committed production team within Alstom UK&I. Day-to-day, you'll be involved in the maintenance and repair of rail vehicles to specified standards, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery. We’ll look to you to:
- Deliver day-to-day servicing and repairs as part of a team, maintaining open communication with your Team Leader.
- Perform duties in accordance with workload requirements and delivery schedules.
- Ensure tasks are completed with accuracy, minimal waste, and recorded correctly.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain housekeeping and adhere to depot safety rules and procedures.
- Be flexible in taking on additional duties such as forklift driving, crane operation, and vehicle movement (if trained and competent).
- Report tooling issues and contribute to maintaining a safe, operational workspace.
- Follow company systems, project procedures, and safety policies consistently.

Qualifications & Experience
- Ideally, time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Alternatively, NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant discipline.
Desirable:
- Experience in rail, automotive, or similar maintenance environments.
- Familiarity with depot operations and safety regulations.
