PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Train System Domain Leader, acting as a deputy of the Train System Metier Manager (EN-SR-00):

  • Manages a sub-set of the TS metier team activities in accordance with QCD commitments on the project(s)/program(s) allocated to the Site
  • Ensures the deployment of Alstom Transport QMS and corresponding Engineering instructions inside the team
  • He/she supports consistent development of competencies inside the team required for this domain, following the right methodologies and tools.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of the TS Metier in collaboration with the Train System Site Metier Manager

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES 

Performance Measurement/KPI’s

  • Global workload management of his/her team: Capacity = workload ± 10%
  • Workforce staffing ramp-up at project start up: (Capacity = workload) at T0 + 1 month
  • Level of application of standard process & tools :100% standard process & tools applied
  • Return of Experience (REX) management between projects: ZERO missing REX between projects

Responsibilities

Accountable for:

  • Supporting the team in the resolution of issues in particular those involving other stakeholders (internal or external) and to support them in the definition of priorities.
  • Ensuring the design reviews are prepared and documented as per the project/program schedule and to follow-up the main open actions.
  • Managing the development of the team to ensure the adequacy of the capacity vs workload vs skills with the support of the Site TS metier manager.
  • Ensuring adequate team resources are appointed to the projects/programs/tenders allocated to the Site.
  • Supporting Site TS metier manager for the forecast of the Site workload, based on hypotheses provided by the workload manager and identifying necessary resources to secure project QCD commitments.
  • Ensuring the Alstom Transport/Engineering rules & processes are understood and applied inside the team
  • Reporting on the progress of team activities and alert the site metier manager in case of issue potentially impacting the achievement of the QCD commitment.
  • Being a pro-active contributor to the improvement of the TS Metier rules and practices in collaboration with site metier manager and central metier team

Responsible for:

  • According to the Site team size and workload, taking the role of TPM (PM2020) / TSE (not PM2020) / SE on one project or tender.
  • Applying and follow-up the People Management Cycle on time for the team according to N+1 and HR instructions
  • Having a pro-active challenging view on the overall Train system studies performed by the team to enhance their adequacy/consistency and compliance the applicable instructions and guidelines.  
  • Providing feedback on the application of the Train System processes

 MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Engineer degree or Master of engineering from University or Engineer school

Desirable:

 

Experience

Mandatory:

  • Experience of 5+ years in Train engineering
  • Experience in Train development project (previously TPM/TSE or SE for different scopes) at least for 3 projects
  • Experience of 3+ years team management

Desirable:
