This position will be a System Engineer within Vehicle Architecture functional organization supporting the BCC & APA projects on System engineering activities related to Coupler and Gangway. To be involved in large-scale projects starting from the conceptual, preliminary or detail design phase through manufacturing and testing. Technically responsible for the requirement management, design, integration, validation and verification and for the overall performance of the vehicle coupler and gangway of a rail project. You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating technical risks associated with your system. Collaborate with procurement for a successful sourcing of the systems. You will work with other engineering functions (structure, carbody, electrical/electrical integration, specialist, TCMS, RAM&LCC and safety)


Create technical requirement documentation, system descriptions, interface documents and test specifications; Ensure that supplier deliverables meet requirements and schedule; Participate to internal design reviews.

Act as engineering contact with suppliers, collaborate with procurement and technically evaluate supplier offers and proposals; Conduct design reviews at suppliers; Attend system tests at suppliers

Ensure proper integration of the system (electrical, functional and physical) and manage interfaces to other parts of the train; Follow up technical realization, support integrators and draftsmen, review technical drawings

Ensure technical compliance with both the customer specification and the regulatory authorities demands for all engineering areas; Participate to commissioning test at vehicle level for the customer; Provide technical support to technical writers for customer documentation

Builds succession by training indirect report(s) to fill position at end of mandate.


Education • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
