Job Title (Job Code):         Workshop/Line Manager/Car body Shell Ind Development Mgr. –(IN-ET-01)

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

She/He will manage the development of a new industrial footprint, promoting Industrial Standards and Lean Manufacturing (APSYS). She / He encompasses the entire operational disciplines and processes required to secure a comprehensive “Start-Of-Production” readiness in terms of infrastructures, equipment and tools, hiring and training program.

      • Phase 1 - Manage industrial development of 4 phase turnkey integrated solution consisting of Early work assessment, Workshop detailed design, procurement, assembly and FAT, Installation and ramp-up.
      • Phase 2 – Production Line/Workshop Manager – Manage all aspects of manufacturing line execution to produce product in accordance to SQCD requirements

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

The main responsibilities of the project execution are,

  • Set up and manage the Integrator project team
  • Formalize and manage the global project planning and Cost to achieve the facility on time and within budget
  • Provide detailed KPI status for site steering committee about progress, risk & mitigation plan
  • Safety: Enforce a safe construction area and execution to target 0 accident during the project execution
  • Setup the new building with industrial means designed and validated through FAT and SAT.
  • Manage Product line in pre-serial and serial mfg phase

 

EARLY WORK ASSESMENT PHASE

  • Issue all the relevant information to set up the buildings, in strong connections with the site Mfg Director, facilities Mgr construction project manager and building design/build team.
  • Execution of Integrator contract in alignment with site specific technical needs (including maintenance, commissioning) and project schedule.
  • Establish and manage the interface between plant construction and integrator implementation schedule. Finalize the general layout and technical specification of the new plant working with Project Industrial team, Mfg Director and construction project manager.
  • Design validation: Build a detailed project plan with Integrator project team for the line industrial development and drive validation of the detailed building layout

 

 

 

WORKSHOP  DETAILED DESIGN PHASE

  • Participate in the design of the required equipment, jigs and tools to manufacture Stainless Steel Carbody Shells with external Integrator
  • Prepare and provide inputs for automation and work shop layout design relative to  EHS/Industrial and manufacturing requirements
  • Prepare welder training program and planning for hiring and qualification of process and equipment
  • Establish all work shop standards and governance plan for manufacturing operations
  • Maximize simple automation where possible, remaining mindful of the TCO as key KPI.
  • Participate in mfg detailed schedule development and process flow through workshop to meet master production schedule
  • Develop governance surrounding rework and meeting quality standards for product work stations
  • Validate detailed logistics plan in alignment with manufacturing schedule to optimize point of use material and production process and flows.
  • Progress Follow-up: Participate in management of detailed design phase to drive and report on all the main Kpis of the integrator development and execution as well as manufacturing follow up.       
  • Budget Follow-up: Cost management as per work package finance requirements.

 

PROCUREMENTASSEMBLY AND F.A.T. PHASE

  • Commissioning: Ensure the delivery of eachstation workshop cell in compliance of the industrial and manufacturing requirements to achieve SQCD commitments.
  • Manage open items from FAT process through execution and site acceptance

 

Installation and Ramp up Phase

  • Manage all aspects of Integrator on site operations to include EHS requirements, project planning and execution
  • Provide and manage project plan and detailed workshop status by maintain clear KPI’s and communication to site management
  • Assure the preparation of the workshop per integrator requirements
  • Coordinate the requirements of the integrator on site to include EHS requirements, permits to work, logistic deliveries, coordination of contractors and execution of the works.
  • Manage site acceptance testing and validation of workshop line to meet all company requirements.

      • Intermediate Handover (EPU level) including intermediate applied configuration (= as manufactured), self-inspections, dynamic checklist, NCR, rework, missing parts, waivers/deviations, incomplete operations, …
      • On time, closing of work orders in MES
      • Productive & Nonproductive hours booked in MES of all operators
      • Full APSYS deployment on the line/workshop
    • SQCD performance, and tracking the associated KPI
    • Continuous improvement of SQCD performance
      • Optimizations of workstations via application of APSYS Tools
    • Issues Management
      • Issues are raised in MES on time
      • Animation of corrective action issue (e.g. QRQC)
    • Organization of the execution of changes to the product, (if applicable)
    • Retrofit execution of first trains/products (if applicable)
    • 1st Train(s) /products Manufacturing Feedback to support functions in order to improve SQCD performance

 

The main responsibilities as hierarchical manager of the employees belonging to the manufacturing line/workshop are

  • Responsible for time management (presence management and activity management) of all employees, and assure compliance with local legislation,
  • Responsible for continuously improving occupational safety, including contractors (if applicable) working for the manufacturing line/workshop,
  • Responsible for the development, which means further development of the qualification matrix for product-related and technology-related processes, as well as general technological and personal qualification,
  • Responsible for the PMC (People Management Cycle) as per local HR policy,
  • Responsible for the implementation and application of the corporate policies (IRIS, EHS, Ethics and Compliance….),

 

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum Higher Technical/General degree
  • Every educational requirement can also be obtained by means of experience
