Rate of Pay: $84,240/year to $91,373/year
Duties: Define specific tooling, and ensure manufacturing and implementation in production with respect to applicable standards, Alstom Tooling rules and business targets (EHS, Ergonomics, QCD). For tenders, identify the need for tooling with the PIM and the Costing Manager, and evaluate the total cost of the tooling, broken down into the categories of Study (specification, design), Manufacturing and Implementation, and Maintenance. Analyze the tooling requested and propose the adequate solution. Write functional specification and obtain approval from the Process & Manufacturing engineers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, EHS and Industrial Quality representatives. Send documented purchase request, participate in RFQ analysis, and contribute to the business award with Sourcing. Perform the design of the tooling, otherwise coordinate sub-contracting. Validate the design through design reviews collaborating with the above-listed engineers and business area representatives. Validate the manufactured tooling. Perform operating procedure when needed and train the manufacturing team on its use. Follow up on implementation of the tooling and first use, and perform adjustments. Specify inspection operations, handling and maintenance instruction. Write periodic inspection sheets. Participate in the Alstom Tooling (AT) network, and contribute to enrich the AT database of standard tooling specifications. Participate in continuous improvement actions (SWIP) in support to Production.
20% travel required (10% domestic & 10% international).
Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Automotive) or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Jigs and Tools Engineer-related occupation.
