Could you be the full-time onsite Industrial Quality Line Manager in Hornell, NY, US we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your industrial quality expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and driven teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring zero defects for Alstom customers by designing and deploying Quality Control Plans that align with our Zero Defect Program. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, production, and customer representatives), manage Industrial Quality activities in the workshop, and contribute to process FMEA definitions, among other impactful responsibilities.
We’ll look to you for:
- Managing Industrial Quality activities in the relevant workshop, including leading the IQ team, overseeing processes, and tracking KPIs,
- Stopping production in case of a defect that justifies mandatory rework,
- Participating in or delegating customer joint inspections,
- Contributing to the definition of process FMEAs,
- Building, implementing, and regularly updating Quality Control Plans using REX (Return of Experience) from previous project execution,
- Ensuring customer approval, document validation, and compliance of manufactured products before shipping,
- Performing Line Quality Animation with cross-functional teams,
- Launching car body shell (CBS) manufacturing programs with an RFT (Right First Time) welding mindset,
- Driving performance through positive Quality engagement,
- Achieving targets for Defects per Unit through first recordable car body shell (CBS) manufacturing initiatives.

Engineering (electromechanical, electrical, material, mechanical) degree preferred; strong experience may substitute.
- Experience in industrial quality processes, including quality control planning and defect prevention,
- Knowledge of quality tools and measurements (e.g., micrometer reading),
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP),
- Familiarity with welding processes and car body shell (CBS) manufacturing,
- Strong computer and technical skills for data analysis and reporting,
- Direct team management and leadership experience,
- Technical expertise in railway products is preferred; experience in similar industries (e.g., automotive, aerospace) will also be considered.
- CWI certification - desired,
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Base Salary Range:
In accordance with New York State law, the anticipated salary range for this position is $76,000 - $85,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, and qualifications. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation.
