Bid & Tender Manager

 

Mission:

Manages Bids and Proposal activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Bid Management - Develops proposal plans; Coordinates proposals; Communicates changes and progress; Completes proposals on time and budget; Manages bids & tender team activities including Bid Managers and Cost Managers. Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.  Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings.  Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information. Capable of providing weekly/monthly reporting to Management Team members on proposal progress.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

Directly supervises varied employees in the Bids & Tenders group. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and competencies; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

  • Develops and implements strategic Tender plans and strategies to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer requirements, price targets, and industry trends.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control Bids and Tenders program.
  • Represents Company at client meetings.
  • Delivers presentations to key clients in coordination with marketing and business development teams.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting business development with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Coordinates liaison between Tender department, metier’s and other related participating units.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of Bids & Tenders department to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Assists other metier’s within organization to prepare Presentations.
  • Prepares periodic Proposal activity report.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition

 

Education Required:

Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience Required:

Four to ten years related experience and/or training.
