ALSTOM Hong Kong Limited has been a major supplier of trains, signaling systems, infrastructure and services (maintenance,renovation and parts supply) to MTR Corporation over the last 40 years. Since the first metro project in Hong Kong in 1975,ALSTOM Hong Kong Limited has supplied over 1,100 metro cars for its metro network and equipped seven lines with signalingsystems currently in operation, contributing positively to the urban transport system development in Hong Kong.
We are looking for Signalling Design Manager based in Hong Kong to join our dynamic team. We deliver multiple signalingprojects to our customer MTR with dedication to sustainable and smart mobility in the field of design, engineering, installationand test & commissioning. What are my responsibilities?
- Lead a local Signalling Design team in the delivery of projects.
- The on time and cost-effective delivery of all aspects of the engineering design solution.
- Participate in the integration of design, installation and testing activities and that the end product meets the clientspecification and has technical integrity.
- Undertake work package management and be accountable for the delivery of the engineering activities in line with theallocated budget.
- Ensure all Signalling design deliverables are in accordance with appropriate railway standards, technical constraints,health and safety legislation, Alstom company procedures and customer requirements.
- Identify, capture and manage Signalling System requirements.
- Support Digital and Integrated Systems business development with tendering activities ensuring the quality of estimates,system description, system architectures, implementation strategies and methodologies.
- Provide governance and assurance to all tendering activities ensuring assumptions and execution risks are capturedduring the tendering process.
- Identify operational risks, construction risks, maintenance risks and system risks within design and identify andimplement suitable mitigation to minimize these risks.
- Provide an effective mechanism for design team management with clear communication lines to safely meet projecttimescales and budget expectations.
- Liaise with the Project Engineering Managers and project planners to develop and maintain accurate delivery schedulesand resource forecasts.
- Provide guidance and training for design staffs as required, including identification of external training needs.
- Represent Alstom at external client and subcontract meetings, ensuring effective interface management with designstakeholders, integrated with all associated company, client and 3rd part project disciplines.

What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent background
- 8+ year of extensive experience of signalling design with an in-depth knowledge of Signalling Systems used in HongKong and/or metro system developed market
- Able to understand and interpret electrical and electronic circuits, data sheets and specifications.
- Experience in Circuit Book Design / Verification and Installation Design requirements
- Knowledge on Control Tables Design / Verification
- Experience of applying SACEM and SSI data preparation and validation cycle
- Extensive experience of RSSB (Rail Safety and Standards Board) Signalling standards
- In-depth knowledge of the application of Network Rail Standards
- Able to understand design and translating it into working functionalities
- Able to understand and implement the process defined
- Team manager experience with leadership and development mindset
- Able to understand Quality and Configuration process
- Shall Review CBI Application Design team KPIs and propose development plan
- Good communications skills
