ALSTOM Hong Kong Limited has been a major supplier of trains, signaling systems, infrastructure and services (maintenance, renovation and parts supply) to MTR Corporation over the last 40 years. Since the first metro project in Hong Kong in 1975, ALSTOM Hong Kong Limited has supplied over 1,100 metro cars for its metro network and equipped seven lines with signaling systems currently in operation, contributing positively to the urban transport system development in Hong Kong.
We are looking for (Assistant) Mechanical Design Engineer based in Hong Kong to join our dynamic team. We deliver multiple signaling projects to our customer MTR with dedication to sustainable and smart mobility in the field of design, engineering, installation and test & commissioning. You will be responsible for:
- Explain/review with the back office all the mechanical design constraints of each solution
- Explain/review all mechanical design constraints of each solutions to various stake holders
- Perform survey on site and define the technical solution for the mechanical parts
- Report any failure of the mechanical solution during the train fitment in order to address the change in short term period
- Supplier follow-up during development phase (evaluation, documentation,…)
- Prepare Mechanical Design Reviews according to project schedule and follow-up the main open actions with the target: On Time Delivery and First Time Right
- Integrate internal and external customer constraints and support them during production phase
- Report on Mechanical Domain activities progress and alerting relevant N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting achievement of QCD commitments
You are expected to have these credentials:
- A degree in Engineering school/university, specialization or oriented in mechanical design or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience as Mechanical Design preferable in Railway
- Knowledge in 3D CAD software
- Industrial, Engineering, Construction, Transportation industry experience preferred
- Confidentiality, Ethical behaviour, Team spirit, Reliable, Initiative, Open to change
- Communication skill with various stakeholders, autonomous, organized, problem solving, able to prioritize the multiple tasks, eager to learn, resilient under high pressure/fast-paced working environment
- Languages: English & Cantonese MUST
*Job title, either Engineer or Assistant Engineer, would be determined subject to the candidate's experience.
