PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

The warehouse manager is in charge to implement and manage :

  • material flow from reception until final supply to construction jobsite.
  • Storage areas organisation outdoor and indoor, at main storage area and at Secondary storage areas

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES  

 

 

To be in charge of an area in the warehouse (incoming, shipping, assembly, storage)

 

 

Main responsibilities:

The warehouse manager is in charge of:

 

For the MATERIAL FLOW part :

 

  • Manage the implementation of material management .
  • Implement the flow management forms, and monitor the use of the forms among the team.
  • Ensure proper means, human and operational, for each step in material flow from reception to issuing.
  • Organise, monitor and analyse inventory operations for material stock.
  • Handle offshore and onshore material, from Track components until construction consumables

 

For the STORAGE part :

 

  • Ensure material identification in stock
  • Optimize the storage layout and stock organisation
  • Keep clean and neat storage organisation at any time and at any location
  • Ensure safe storage and material handling

    For the PREASSEMBLY ACTIVITY part :

     

  • Manage preassembly production on storage yard
  • Optimize the production workshops and organize the storage space required for preassembled items
  • ensure proper reporting to Track Logistic & Plant & Tools Manager
  • Liaise with lifting and transport team for material evacuation to jobsit

 

Management:

  • Provide a long-term vision to the team, set yearly objectives and targets, support and coach in achieving these targets and objectives, perform performance appraisals, reward and recognize merits, set and follow up team members development plans and induction program for newcomers
  • Ensure Logistics Operators follow ALSTOM each warehouse processes
  • Manage Logistics Operators & aligned team members activities to the warehouse workload
  •  

    Operational activities:

  • Participate to the warehouse layout and optimize the storage space.
  • Contribute to the implementation of mirror area in the warehouse to optimize activities.
  • Manage at operations level his area: material receipt, inbound transportation, stock entry, picking and kitting, packing, shipping, outbound transportation, inventory accuracy, scrap process.
  • Respect any specific storage regulations (chemicals, battery, …).
  • Ensure the continually improvement of the warehouse organisation & processes.

    In case of 3PL (logistic activities totally or partially outsourced):

    Main responsibilities (towards 3PL):

  • Ensure that the 3PL and his employees operates in an environment that complies with Alstom’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • If the 3PL works in Alstom’s ERP, ensure that is correctly implemented and used by the 3PL
  • Participate in all monthly, weekly and daily meetings with the 3PL
  •  

     

    Operational activities (towards 3PL):

  • Guarantee follow-up and performance of 3PL activities .
  • Analyse the Root Causes of any logistic issues and agree with the internal stakeholders and the Management of the 3PL on corrective actions. Follow up on these actions and participate in their realization

 MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Mandatory:

Extensive knowledge in logistics, inventory management, distribution and team management.

 

Desirable:

  • Specializes in logistics and heavy equipment

Experience

 

Mandatory:

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years in a similar role in logistics and team management.
  • Experience and use of ERP solution.

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledgeable of ERP SAP (IM and WM module)
