Your Future Role

 

2,100 colleagues from 46 countries, including 800 engineers, shape in Hennigsdorf the future of rail mobility. The locally developed, manufactured, and maintained product range includes high-speed, regional, and local trains, subways, as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to Train Electrical Metier Manager, Patrick Mösch and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

In this role you will lead the Domnain for Electrical Integration within the Train Electrical Metier at the Train Development Site Hennigsdorf.

 

We’ll look for you to :

 

  • Leading the team for EHI (Electrical Harness Integration) with up to 20 engineers

  • Allocating adequate resources to the projects/programs/tenders.

  • Managing the development of the Domain team to ensure the adequacy of the capacity vs workload vs skills and the transfer of activities if needed.

  • Applying and follow-up the Alstom People Management Cycle on time for Domain team and conducting performance reviews

  • Ensuring understanding and application of the TE rules, processes and tools

  • Ensuring proper collaborative work with other Domains/Metier/Departments

  • Organizing support from other Alstom sites and external engineering contractors

  • Defining mitigation plans covering a risk identified on the Domain scope. 

  • Supporting the Domain team in the resolution of issues and challenging actions involving other stakeholders (internal or external).

  • Reporting on Domain activities progress and alerting in case of main issue

  • Making proposals that would contribute to continuous improvement of the Domain and Metier

  • Collaborating with the Central Engineering team

  • Supervision of working students and contribution to R&D projects

  • Managing the planning, costs and deliverables of bids (depending on applicant’s profile)

  • Technical support, concept work and management of the bid project team (depending on applicant's profile)

  • Electrical / Mechanical Engineering degree and engineering experience in Railway products (or Automotive domain or Aerospace domain) 

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in Railway products (or Automotive domain or Aerospace domain) 

  • Experience of 2+ years team management

  • Good communications and interpersonal skills

  • Conflict management and multitasking

  • Customer focus / management skills

  • Structured and organized with hand-on approach

  • Ideally knowledge in 3D design (CATIA V5)

  • Ideally knowledge of train systems and functions as well as the industrialization of rail vehicles and the production and routing of cable harnesses

  • Language skills: English fluent, German intermediate
