Could you be the full-time Mechanical Test Laboratory Engineer (f/m/d) in Hennigsdorf we’re looking for?

 

Your Future Role

 

2,100 colleagues from 46 countries, including 800 engineers, shape in Hennigsdorf the future of rail mobility. The locally developed, manufactured, and maintained product range includes high-speed, regional, and local trains, subways, as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to the Site Certification & Validation Manager and work alongside dedicated people.

 

We’ll look for you to :

 

  • Define the most appropriate test methodology, testing means, and develop the test operating mode in accordance with Test Laboratory Quality Management System & within the costs, time, and pass-fail criteria set for the test.

  • Perform the validation test/type test within mechanical domain (e.g. running dynamics, safety agains derailment, running comfort, strain gauge measurement)  in complete independence and guarantee the exactitude of the test results.

  • Guarantee the confidentiality of the test program.

  • Participate in the design and the development of the tools necessary for performing the tests.

  • Implement, verify (functional), and ensure compliance (calibration) of the measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test.

  • Prepare the equipment and the test object for testing.

  • Validate that the applied configuration and prerequisite testing allow the testing to proceed.

  • Respect EHS rules within your responsibility.

  • Supervise and/or execute test activities, analyze test results “live”, and decide if a test has to be redone or not.

  • Process the test results data, write static and dynamic test reports.

  • Knowledge of testing methodology according to Test Laboratory accreditation level (EN17025, COFRAQ, ISO, etc...)

  • Experience in mechanical (railway) vehicle testing e.g. pantograph testing, safety against derailment, strain measurement, ride comfort, weight measurement

  • Master`s degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Willingness to travel for measurement tasks.

  • Fluent in English and German (French beneficial).
