Could you be the full-time Software Developer for Passenger Information System (f/m/d) in Hennigsdorf we’re looking for?
Your Future Role
2,100 colleagues from 46 countries, including 800 engineers, shape in Hennigsdorf the future of rail mobility. The locally developed, manufactured, and maintained product range includes high-speed, regional, and local trains, subways, as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our corporate functions play a key role in supporting and continuously improving the performance of our sites. You’ll report to John Slager and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We’ll look for you to:
- Developing software & modules for passenger information system (PIS) equipment (while assuring and maximizing the reuse of standard configurable software components) using programming languages C++, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML,
- Developing unit & module tests in an automated test environment,
- Generating executable code and configuration to be loaded on the PIS equipment,
- Producing the software integration plan, integrating various functions and providing reports, as applicable,
- Providing support for Supplier interface test on PIS Test Bench,
- Providing support during train integration, train validation & upon request,
- Reviewing the software specifications and related requirements,
- Performing code reviews, contributing to software architecture and design discussions,
- Managing the RoE (Return on equity) of the activity for both design process and applicative function library,
- Implementing the development practices and rules as defined in the Coding Guidelines,
- Resolving and following the open points of configuration management,
- Managing each individual software module under configuration,
- Attending CCB meetings.
All About You

- Preferably finished studies in Computer or Software Engineering,
- Preferably with previous experience in the railway industry or in Passenger Information Systems,
- Proven experience with C++ on Linux are a key skill for this role,
- Experience with virtual machines, Jenkins and GitLab,
- Experience with JavaScript, XML, CSS are nice to have,
- Fluent in English, intermediate German level expected.
