Your Future Role

2,100 colleagues from 46 countries, including 800 engineers, shape in Hennigsdorf the future of rail mobility. The locally developed, manufactured, and maintained product range includes high-speed, regional, and local trains, subways, as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to Sebastian Jungen, EDU Manager RAMS, and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

 

We’ll look for you to:

  • Manage the reliability and/or safety activities as well as related deliverables in accordance with quality, cost and delivery commitments on the project/program you are appointed to.
  • Support the Alstom products performance by defining reliability requirements allowing to enhance their capability to meet the expected reliability targets.
  • Coordinate the different RAMS contributors working on the program/project for the relevant scope.
  • Apply the applicable Alstom/Engineering RAMS processes & instructions and participate to their improvement.
  • Perform the safety and reliability design reviews as per the project/program schedule.
  • Interface with and support internal and external stakeholders (engineering, customers, assessors, etc.) for various tasks during the product/system lifecycle.
  • Support the internal stakeholders (design, industrial, sourcing, validation etc..) in the definition of appropriate measures to meet the safety and/or reliability actions and to follow their closure through appropriate documented evidence.
  • Manage the interface with the independent parties (ISA, NoBo, Debo) on the project/program on ensure all open points are allocated and addressed.
  • Continuously assess the capability of the Alstom product to meet the Reliability performance in project/program phases and define the necessary reliability actions to minimize Alstom risks and follow them until closure.
  • Have a pro-active approach on the design to support the definition of adequate technical solutions to put under control the railway safety risks.
  • Lead the safety activities related to the management of incidents, accidents and near-misses with the company’s products and services.
  • Work on complex assignments, provide plans, cost and schedule estimates on the project/program you are appointed to.

  • A university degree (B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent), or an equivalent working experience.
  • Proven record of relevant safety and/or reliability experience.
  • Working experience in project assignments.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of safety and reliability assessment techniques (FTA, risk matrix, FME(C)A, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant software tools (e.g. DOORS, Fault Tree+, etc.) is of benefit.
  • Knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of relevant standards, laws, regulation: may include EN 5012x, MIL-STD-882, IEEE Std 1012, CSM for Risk Assessment, etc.
  • Background knowledge in any engineering area (e.g. brakes, etc.) may be beneficial.
  • Fluent in English and German.
