Your Future Role

2,100 colleagues from 46 countries, including 800 engineers, shape in Hennigsdorf the future of rail mobility. The locally developed, manufactured, and maintained product range includes high-speed, regional, and local trains, subways, as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to Sebastian Jungen, the Domain Lead RAMS and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

 

We’ll look for you to:

  • Perform activities during the realization, authorization, operation, and field support of the products/subsystems. Lead the Product Safety activities related to the management of incidents, accidents and near-misses with the company’s products and services.
  • Interface with and supports internal and external stakeholders (engineering, customers, assessors, etc.) for various tasks during the product/system lifecycle.
  •  Provide implementation feedback and improvement suggestions for Product Safety Management System, for Reliability and for relevant horizontal initiatives.
  •  Support and/or supervise and/or develop "Product Safety and Reliability Engineers" and "Senior Product Safety and Reliability Engineers".
  • Work on complex assignments, high risk matters and projects, provide plans, cost and schedule estimates on complicated engineering programs.
  • Provides technical expertise in support of colleagues or departments with less experience in the field of safety and reliability.
  • Product Safety activities related to the management of incidents, accidents and near-misses.
  • Communicate, support to other engineering functions, assessors and stakeholders.
  • Coordination and direction of staff (can be subordinate) working on subjects in the own domain(s) of responsibility.
  • Ensure the application of Product Safety Management System and the Reliability framework in the own domain(s) of responsibility.
  • Ensure that relevant peer reviews for Product Safety and Reliability Deliverables are being performed.
  • Development, maintenance and operation of a detailed plans and budget.

  • A university degree (B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent), or an equivalent working experience.
  • Proven record of relevant safety and/or reliability experience.
  • Working experience in project assignments.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of safety and reliability assessment techniques (FTA, risk matrix, FME(C)A, etc.).
  • Knowledge of relevant software tools (e.g. DOORS, Fault Tree+, etc.) is of benefit.
  • Knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of relevant standards, laws, regulation: may include EN 5012x, MIL-STD-882, IEEE Std 1012, CSM for Risk Assessment, etc.
  • Background knowledge in any engineering area (e.g. brakes, etc.) may be beneficial.
  • Fluent in English and German.
