Join us a Product Cost Engineer (PCE) and you will become a reference for a process or product family on-site, in Hennigsdorf, Germany (close to Berlin)



The current position opened shall cover either the field of Mechanical (Machining, casting, forging, bending, etc..) or Electrical (automation, logical diagrams, electrical components, etc…). You are expected to provide assistance across different projects in order to support the DtC discipline.



Purpose of the position

  • Provide estimates of realistically achievable engineering costs for parts and assemblies. 
  • Support the engineering team in the application of design to cost procedures and methods.
  • Participate in the preparation of target costs in the context of tenders and projects.
  • Support the sourcing team in negotiating with suppliers.


Your responsibilities:

Based on the design of the product and different assumptions (Industrial / Sourcing).

  • Calculating the technical costs (Should Costs / Could Costs) of the product using appropriate tools or analytical approach
  • Propose alternatives solution to improve the cost of the train
  • Creating and documenting design to cost ideas
  • Supporting technical business cases
  • Bring technical and commercial arguments for the supplier negotiation
  • Documenting cost reduction potentials


Contributing to the improvement of the cost metier

  • Development of cost calculation tools for the cost network
  • Propose design rules to the Métiers
  • Participate in the DtC network (REX, practices, etc.)
  • Ensure consistency of assumptions made


Your skills and competences:

  • Knowledge of Engineering tools (DMA/CATIA/E3S/IGE XAO)
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and presenting solutions and options
  • Curious and willingness to continuously learn
  • Industrial Process knowledge (segmentation of the industrial processes, pros and cons per processes, method time awareness)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Overall knowledge of railway industry is a plus
  • Knowledge of quality gates (V-Cycle)
  • Fluent in English
  • MS Office Knowledge
