Join us as a Product Cost Engineer based in Hennigsdorf, Germany

 

Purpose of the position

  • Provide estimates of realistically achievable engineering costs for parts and assemblies. 
  • Support the engineering team in the application of design to cost procedures and methods.
  • Participate in the preparation of target costs in the context of tenders and projects.
  • Support the sourcing team in negotiating with suppliers.

 

Responsibilities

Based on the design of the product and different assumptions (Industrial / Sourcing).

  • Development of cost calculation tools for the cost network
  • Calculating the technical costs (Should Costs / Could Costs) of the product using appropriate tools
  • Ensure full product validity
  • Verification of the applied industrial processes
  • Ensure consistency of assumptions made

 

Contributing to the improvement of the cost metier

  • Referee for a process or product family
  • Creating and documenting design to cost ideas
  • Documenting cost reduction potentials
  • Supporting technical business cases
  • Working methods / processes / methods
  • Distributing feedback from suppliers
  • Propose design rules to the Métiers
  • Participate in the DtC network (REX, practices, etc.)

 

Required skills and competences:

  •  Overall knowledge of railway industry (norms, certifications, …)
  • Industrial Process knowledge (segmentation of the industrial processes, pros and cons per processes, method time awareness)
  • Knowledge of quality gates (V-Cycle)
  • Knowledge of Engineering tools (DMA/CATIA/E3S/IGE XAO)
  • Costing knowledge (Should Cost / Could Cost)
  • Fluent in English
  • Pack Office Knowledge
  • Good Entrepreneurship
  • Very good agility and collaboration
  • Dynamic, proactive and autonomy
  • Self-learning
