Join us as a Site DtC Metier Manager based in Hennigsdorf, Germany




Purpose of the job

  • To build and lead the Site Design to Cost team (between 4 and 20 people – depending on the sites) 
  • To prepare a strategy to deploy among all the Projects and to deploy it
  • To identify best practices and coordinate with Central Métier to deploy across Alstom sites 
  • To ensure right communication to all stakeholders


Main responsibilities: 


Build and sustain DtC roadmap with stakeholders

  • Negotiate headcounts budget, with local management
  • Define target tenders & projects, with local management
  • Propose key operational priorities and governance, with engineering sub-Métiers and procurement
  • Up-date local Scorecard, with Central Métiers
  • Manage adequacy between estimated workload and capacity


Build and manage the local DtC organization

  • Run hiring process
  • Build induction plan / participation to DtC school
  • Set competences development
  • Run people management cycle
  • Compute workload model
  • Build succession plan
  • Set clear team goals, delegate tasks and set deadlines
  • Provide support to team project/program execution
  • Promote Alstom values to his/her team


Deploy on a local basis the standard DtC process (and eventually the RDtC process)

  • Master the standard process and associated tools (Benchmark, target cost, business cases, could cost, should cost, CPU in dev, etc.)
  • Deploy the activities in all the fields as per roadmap (Train Cost, Product Cost Mechanical, Product Cost Electrical)
  • Pull deliverables of centralized Product Cost Engineers (Systems)
  • Implement local surveys
  • Bring improvement suggestions
  • Deploy APSYS items related to DtC


Liaise on a regular basis with the DtC network

  • Touch point with Métiers on a frequent basis (people, process, tools, results, etc.)
  • Do - by delegation of Métiers – some Métiers activities such as design guidelines, etc.
  • Participate to cross-fertilization sessions / workshops / seminars
  • Ramp-up SEC mode and associated workload plan


Monitor the performance

  • Set the plan to meet the savings objectives
  • Up-date the KPI on a monthly basis
  • Produce data cards
  • Feed DtC database


Required skills & competencies:


Hard skills mandatory

  • Knowledge of railway industry (norms, certifications, …)
  • DtC process, from idea generation to idea transformation
  • Overall knowledge of the V-Cycle main phases
  • Knowledge and/or experiences in industrial process
  • Good Knowledge and/or experiences in costing methodologies and functional analysis (Target/Could/Should Cost)
  • Overall Knowledge of Engineering Design tools (DMA/CATIA/E3S/DOORS/CMT…)
  • Good Knowledge of quality and competitiveness methodologies (KAIZEN, 5S, PDCA, …)
  • Good skills on Office pack (especially Power-Point)
