Purpose of the Job
Design and Verifier Engineer for the Alstom Control Systems product range (SapphireT48 MCS, SPADAlert, TD & RISI and Delphin RIIU, PIIU, PMux and TDM) following the standard Alstom procedures.
Objectives
- Ensure that the hardware design and verification is delivered to the project schedule, to the required technical standards, specifications and procedures.
- Take full cognisance of the project concept, requirements, assurance plan, acceptance criteria, project scope and technical specification.
- Attend Design Review meetings covering the designs produced as and when required.
Responsibilities
- Ability to interact with other experts and peers and to problem solve and identify technical conflicts
- Produce and verify designs that comply with the company, technical and customer standards
- Actively seek to improve processes in order to maximize Project margins.
- Participate in periodic CRE design reviews
- IRSE licence log book kept up to date and hold or working towards Signalling Verifier licence
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Control System product knowledge, including any limitations on how the products interface with other signalling subsystems and infrastructure assets.
- Accurate and able to concentrate on the task, time management and critically review own work.
- Numerate, organised, self-motivated
- Good oral and written communication skills, good problem solving and solution building skills
- Able to work with other disciplines
- Meticulous, with an eye for detail
- Proficient in the application of CAD packages
Measurement
- Meet the delivery schedule for the project and highlight any issues that affect the schedule.
- Ensure Engineering deliverables are on time and within budget.
