Railway Systems (RSY) Configuration and Requirement Engineer

Purpose of the role

On the Haifa-Nazareth LRT Project, the mission of the RSY Configuration and Requirement Engineer is to manage,

  • Review the content of the technical transmittals from the Client [Design from Others, Design configuration items] and identify the part of the configuration that is affected,
  • Follow along with the EPC Configuration and Requirement manager the change impact assessment with all Railway subsystems design teams,
  • Follow along with the EPC Configuration and Requirement manager requirement processes,
  • Support RSY Subsystems’ Configuration and Requirement manager and/or PrEM
  • Follow deployment of the requirement management plan and process,
  • Coordination of the collection of the evidence of the compliance of the technical requirements on the Project,
  • Support the delivery teams RSY Gate Reviews for the Requirement and Configuration matters.

in accordance with the Client’s requirements and the consortiums’ strategy.

 

Organisational Reporting

The Configuration and Requirement Engineer is part of the HN RSY team. The Rail Systems Configuration and Requirement Engineer reports to RSY PrEM.

 

Network & Links

The EPC Configuration and Requirement Manager/Engineer and Technical team (BIM Manager, Interface Manager, Integration-T&C Manager, Information Security Manager), the RSY System Engineering and Subsystem Design Managers as well as EPC, RSY and CJV Project Managers and client.

 

Measurement

  • Technical assessment of the design data transmitted by the Client,
  • Understanding of the technical content of these transmittals,
  • Maintaining clear Client’s design configuration trackers at all time,
  • Reporting on the identified impact,
  • Understanding of requirement management,
  • Propositions made to improve the management of the above.

Responsibilities

For Rail Systems segment’s use:

  • To manage follow up of design changes and track their progressing,
  • To manage follow up of configuration item list,
  • To manage the Project Configuration Baselines,
  • To manage assessment and allocation of drawing batches transmitted by the Client,
  • To manage associated tracker,
  • To regularly report on the evolution of the transmittals,
  • To explain the content of each transmittal to the technical team, the planning team and the commercial team,
  • To issue all configuration and requirements reports required to support the different Systems Gate reviews,
  • To comply with the rules defined in the Configuration Management Plan defined for the Project, and make sure those rules are understood and respected by all Project entities,
  • To create and validate any tool that supports the above.

Educational Requirements

  • A degree preferably within an engineering discipline and equivalent experience,
  • Good knowledge of Excel and macros

Experience

2 years’ experience on managing configuration on a Project, preferably on Rail transit systems Projects

Behavioural / Technical Competencies

  • Capacity to read and understand quickly technical drawing,
  • Autonomy, initiative and reactivity,
  • Good contact and communication skills
