PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Finance Project Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting support to the Project. He will analyze financial data, prepare reports, and provide insights to improve the project overall performance. As part of the project team of a highly critical project, he collaborates closely with the Project Director, the Finance Project Manager and the Sub-Systems Managers

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage the controlling and financial reporting of projects in accordance with internal control rules, processes and tools.
  • Ensure project accounting is in accordance with Company guidelines
  • Provide finance advice, support on finance models and tools and tutoring to the project team
  • Checks the accuracy of the data accounted for on the project
  • Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support budgeting and planning processes
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for project reviews.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial information
  • Develop and maintain financial models and tools for forecasting and budgeting purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation  project periodic forecasts
  • Monitor and track financial performance against budgets and forecasts
  • Provide recommendations for improving financial performance and cost efficiency
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required by the Finance project Manager.

Measurement / Key Performance Indicators:

  • Achievement of financial targets of the project (i.e.: project margin compliance, project cash flow in line with targets, kpi’s fulfillment, etc.)
  • Compliance with ALSTOM rules & processes
  • Timely and accurate MPRs & FPRs

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Master’s in business school, engineering school or university equiv.

Desirable:

  • MBA, Master’s in finance

Experience

Mandatory:

  • Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Team working
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, or a related field
  • Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or similar roles. Project companies will be an advance
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, including OdyC and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with financial planning systems and software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in railway company in equivalent position
  • Previous experience in industrial projects in equivalent position
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Fluent in other languages is a plus
  • An auditing and/or project operational background would be an advantage
