Purpose of the role

Throughout the Construction Phase, the Railway Systems Interface Manager shall be based in Hafia. On the NofIT LRT Line Project and in accordance with the Interface Management Plan, the Interface Manager shall be responsible for the overall management, control, administration and supervision of all interface related Works, services, tasks, activities and actions required to be performed or implemented by or on behalf of the Project Company under and pursuant to the Agreement for the scope of the Railway Systems segment.

 

Organisational Reporting

The Railway Systems Interface Manager is part of the HN LRL Railway Systems team. The Railway Systems Interface Manager reports to the Railway Systems Design Manager (PrEM).

 

Network & Links

The Interface engineers, the Rail Systems Design teams, the EPC Technical team (Integration Manager, VTA Manager, Information Security Manager), the Railway Systems Project Manager, the Client. third parties.

 

Measurement

For the Railway Systems segment :

  • Deployment of the Interface processes,
  • Respect of planning and delays,
  • Quality of Interface Documents,
  • Gate Reviews and milestones acceptance,
  • Report of Issue

 

Responsibilities

For the Railway Systems segment:

  • To support the updates of the Interface Management Plan and related procedures and enforce its application within the Railway Systems;

  • To monitor all interface management process and ensuring Interface activity is progressing in line with the planning;

  • To coordinate the resolution of interfaces within the Interface Management Team;

  • To establish and to maintain the Interface Matrix (for all interfaces, including Level 3 interfaces);

  • To allocate a leadership (responsible entity) to all identified interfaces and designating the appropriate Interface Engineer for leading it;

  • To compile each Interface Engineer’s Interface Register and reporting to the Railway Systems Design Manager (PrEM);

  • To ensure that all information related to Interfaces is kept it up to date, in line with the Integration activities and configuration, and that all parties are kept informed of activities and decisions relevant to their function;

  • To inform and report to the Project Management Group and concerned organizations of critical issues (for all interfaces, including Level 3 interfaces) to enable effective targeting of resources towards the resolution of critical interfaces and minimizing risks to the Project;

  • To seek the resolution of the conflict in a manner that minimizes the risks to the Project; where agreement cannot be reached at Interface Management level, the problem is escalated to the Railway Systems Design Manager (PrEM);

  • To escalate interface management issues as required to the Railway Systems Design Manager (PrEM)and to the Integration Manager when appropriate;

  • To ensure the Interface Management Team is delivering, producing Interface Control Documents and providing all required give and get information and liaising with the Design Managers;

  • To request support of Risk Manager / Systems Assurance Manager when necessary; and

  • To organize specific coordination interface meeting, whenever appropriate.

 

Educational Requirements

  • Qualified professional [Advanced University Degree in Engineering].

 

Technical Knowledge / Experience

  • Eight (8) years’ working experience in Engineering

  • Five (5) years’ working experience in systems engineering for Railways preferably in Interface Management

 

Behavioural / Technical Competencies

  • Good working relationship and ability to negotiate with the subsystems,
  • Team spirit,
  • Organisation skills and good management of priorities,
  • Target and delay respect,
  • Dynamical / Excellent Communications / Organisations
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
