PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Environmental Permits Specialist is in charge to support environmental compliance and permitting processes for infrastructure, industrial, and development projects in the Haifa-Nazareth region. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Israeli environmental regulations, permitting procedures, and environmental impact assessments (EIAs).

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
Permit Management:
- Prepare, submit, and track environmental permit applications in accordance with Israeli Ministry of Environmental Protection (MoEP) regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, including MoEP, local municipalities, and planning committees.
- Ensure timely renewals and updates of existing permits.
Environmental Compliance:
- Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with environmental laws and permit conditions.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to assess environmental performance.
- Maintain documentation and records for audits and regulatory reviews.
Environmental Assessments:
- Support or lead the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and other required studies.
- Coordinate with consultants and technical experts to gather data and prepare reports.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communicate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders regarding environmental requirements.
- Participate in public hearings or consultations when required.
Reporting:
- Prepare environmental reports, compliance summaries, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Track and report on environmental KPIs and permit milestones.
MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES
Educational Requirements
Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Desirable:
- Solid understanding of railway infrastructure
Experience
Mandatory:
- Minimum 5 years experience of environmental permits, and regulatory compliance in railway or linear infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with Israeli environmental laws
- Experience with EIAs and working with government agencies.
Desirable:
- Solid understanding of railway infrastructure
Competencies & Skills
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, or under tight deadlines during convoy operations.
- Fluency in Hebrew and English both written and spoken.
- Valid driving license preferred.
We are looking for candidates who are able to work on-site in Northern Israel
