Essential Responsibilities

  • On-site Liaison between remote application engineers to manufacturing and factory test in WSBG.
  • Investigates, troubleshoots, and provides recommendations in resolving complex, unique or major problems.  Collaborates within the teams in resolving problems
  • Participates in technical discussions with customer to represent/protect the company interests
  • Verifies Interlocking circuit design, relay-based and /or microprocessor-based logic, HW and SW interfaces, material selection, and equipment rack layouts
  • Interfaces with internal/external contacts to include vendors, subcontractors and prime contractors on technical matters
  • Assists in generating schedule, budget and product/system specifications as required
  • Assists in generating technical proposals and cost estimates as requested
  • Provides input/modifications to departmental work instructions and procedures when required
  • Maintains project related files, documents, and revision control of documents under their direct control
  • Provides and develops accurate material lists for both internal and external requirements on projects
  • Troubleshoots problems identified during factory and field test offering possible technical solutions to minimize impact
  • Keeps abreast of technologies used by the company, industry to remain current and prepared for technology changes within the work environment
  • Interfaces with manufacturing, seeks resolution, creates cohesive unit, performs root cause analysis
  • Performs PLM, GSI, and CLAMP activities
  • Assists in Change Management Initiatives
  • Acts as design engineering team for project location factory test including customer witness tests

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or an Engineering Technology Degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Railway Signal Engineering or related field
  • Hardware Design experience

  • Manufacturing and Factory test experience
  • Prior experience in signal engineering principles and practices
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Ability to establish and maintain good customer relations 
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
