Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your team leadership and maintenance expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and proactive teammates.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance depot, leading a team to deliver high-quality servicing and renovation activities. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Maintenance Managers, Industrial Teams, and Customer Representatives), coordinate shift briefings, and oversee team deployment, all while upholding safety and performance standards.
You’ll specifically take care of team management and development, but also drive continuous improvement initiatives.
We’ll look to you for:

Leading and organizing the team to meet maintenance and servicing requirements.

Conducting Start of Shift and End of Shift briefings for team members.

Ensuring the team adheres to safety standards and reports any unsafe acts or deviations.

Providing real-time updates on work progress and ensuring documentation accuracy.

Facilitating team communication and providing constructive feedback.

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and implementing smarter ways of working.

Developing team skills through training and regular skills matrix reviews.

Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent with technical qualifications [HNC(Higher National Certificate)/ONC(Ordinary National Certificate)/City & Guilds or similar].

In-depth understanding of rail depot and rail industry operations.

Proven experience in fleet maintenance, renovation, or operations roles.

Knowledge of Metro Rail Rules and Regulations (MRGR) and local safety procedures.

Strong team leadership and problem-solving skills.

Good written and verbal communication abilities.

Self-motivation and the ability to work under stringent timelines.
