PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • Perform the activites, under the governance/guidance of the Safety Assurance Manager (PSAM), related to safety assurance in the Projects and Programs. Activities can be related to Project, System, Software, Hardware domains.
  • Deliver safe solutions (Program and Projects)

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinate all the Safety Assurance activities on the project / system / product as per Safety process defined in Signalling Safety Instruction
  • Perform Safety analysis, manage Hazard Log, review V&V, T&C activities from a Safety perspective
  • Define safety plan and manage safety workload and associated planning
  • Support tenders and/or RC teams to integrate product/system in projects
  • Build the Safety Reports and/or the Safety Cases          
  • Apply the safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification and validation) defined for the project / system / product        
  • Organize and attend periodic Safety Reviews          
  • Defend Safety Case argumentations in front of internal (QS, Safety Assessor) and external (ISA) assessors; define and follow-up action plans to close the findings of the assessors  
  • Manage (if any) the Safety Assurance Engineers involved on the project / system / product (Internal or external resources)
  • If identified as Safety Leader for a Safety Issue, manage 8D steps as per process
  • Support actions contributing to close the findings of the assessors (Internal or External)  

 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Preferable:
    • Mastering CENELEC Standards for Safety (orequivalent standards AREMA, IEEE, etc ) and safety methodology &concepts/principles
  • Mandatory:
    • Educational Requirements : University Degreelevel in Electronics/Telecommunications/SoftwareEngineering/Computer science or equivalent)
  • Mandatory: 
    • Italian
    • Fluent English
  • Mandatory:
    • Can be a beginner in safety but, depending of the domain, specific experience is required on system, data preparation, hardware or software domain
  • Behavioural Competencies:

    • Sense of anticipation and urgency
    • Be a rigorous and detail-oriented individual
    • Possess a strong work ethic and be task focused.Sense of urgency and attitude to respect the committed milestones maintaining the highest levels of quality in theproduced activities

    • Resilient (to pressure, to last minutes deliveries, safety issue management…)
    • Ability to say “no go” when needed and to support/elaborate improvements plan/solutions to deliver projects
