Job Description: Facility Equipment Asset Supervisor

 

Position Summary

The Facility Equipment Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all facility-related equipment is maintained, inspected, tracked, and operating safely and efficiently for the Eglinton Sites. This role supports daily operations by coordinating preventive maintenance, managing vendor services, maintaining equipment documentation, and assisting with troubleshooting equipment issues across the facility.


 

Key Responsibilities

 

Equipment Management & Maintenance

  • Coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance (PM) for facility and production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Working with Engineering team to track equipment performance, reliability, and recurring issues; escalate concerns as needed.
  • Assist with diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions or failures.
  • Ensure proper calibration, certification, and inspection of critical equipment.

 

Vendor & Service Coordination

  • Serve as the main point of contact for external service providers, contractors, and technicians.
  • Request quotes, issue purchase orders, and monitor vendor performance.
  • Oversee on-site service activities to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

 

Compliance, Safety & Documentation

  • Maintain equipment records, manuals, maintenance logs, and inspection documentation.
  • Support facility compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate corrective actions stemming from audits, inspections, or equipment failures.
  • Ensure equipment layouts and documentation are kept up-to-date.

 

Operational Support

  • Support facilities management with space planning, equipment moves, and installations.
  • Assist with facility equipment related requests from employees and customers.
  • Monitor equipment usage and ensuring proper operator training are available.
  • Assisting with training on the equipment to operators
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for equipment uptime and workflow efficiency.

 


Skills & Qualifications

 

Required

  • Experience in facilities, equipment coordination, maintenance planning, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawing, manuals, schematics and equipment documentation.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management systems or asset tracking tools.
  • Solid communication and vendor‑management abilities.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or building systems.
  • Ability to work with different teams of the organization and able to lead a team of employees

 

Preferred

  • Technical diploma or degree in facilities, engineering, or maintenance.
  • Experience in rail yards, manufacturing, labs, or industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., ISO, CSA).
