Purpose:

Initial job responsibilities will be assisting/learning with the T&C Field Services Engineer (DBJV) to support the LAX APM Automated People Mover Fleet. This includes, but is not limited to acceptance, testing and commissioning, supporting vehicle maintenance (corrective and preventive) up to PSA. After PSA the FSE (Vehicles) will be responsible for leading preventive maintenance activities, troubleshooting and continuous monitoring of vehicle health.

 

Description:

The FSE (Vehicles) is responsible for any technical activity on LAX APM fleet from PSA and during O&M. The FSE will diagnose cause of malfunctions/failures of operational equipment and recommends preventive and corrective actions. The FSE will define and revise, as necessary, troubleshooting methodology as well as provide technical guidance. They will provide ongoing feedback on technical documentation deficiencies, ensure completeness and quality of input to Failure Management databases such as MMIS. Driving and supporting containment solutions to avoid reoccurrences of maintenance failures will be a key factor in the position’s success. Additionally, the FSE (vehicles) will apply EHS requirements on site with the support of the Safety & Security Department.

Accountabilities & Authorities:

· Achievement of contractual reliability targets

· Achievement of availability targets

· Contribute to containment and solution issues on time.

· Completeness and Quality of failure/event diagnosis/data and relevant documentation

· Reliability improvement after PSA and throughout the O&M contract period.

· Achievement of configuration updates.

· Audit results (internal and external).

· Compliance with EHS rules and work-related processes.

· Compliance with any applicable State Safety Oversight requirements.

 

Education Requirements

Mandatory:

· Graduate of technical school, studying in electrical or mechanical engineering, or a 4 year degree in relatable studies.

Mandatory:

· 3 years of technical experience, either mechanical or electrical engineering.

· Railway safety.

· EHS knowledge/exposure.

· Product knowledge (Innovia 300 APM).

· Data analytics.

· General railroad knowledge.

· Field experience.

· Problem solving skills.

· Quality control audits.

· Customer service.

· Joint Venture knowledge.

 

Salary Range:

  • $82,000 - $125,000
