Join us as Manager of Train Operations, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Escondido (CA), US.


This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of trains, personnel, and assets. This position will assist, train and coordinate with front line supervisors and our customer (North County Transit District) for all operational issues. The Manager of Train Operations will also be responsible for managing our site safety program to ensure regulatory compliance.




  • Safety – Mentor, train, assist and perform testing activities for train crew members, supervisors, and contractors in compliance with current regulations
  • Train Operations – ensure on time performance, respond to service interruptions, coordinate with cross functional crafts to ensure excellent communication and planning to minimize delay to service.
  • Budget – Manager a monthly budget to remain above goal on overtime spend, meal periods and other penalties incurred in Operations
  • Leadership – Mentor (2) supervisors and (2) Road Foreman of Engines to develop into a successful team and provide leadership and key decision making
  • Customer Service – Manager all customer service aspects for our operation. Liaison with North Country Transit District on customer service affairs, complaints, new initiatives to ensure an excellent experience for our customers




  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-5 years in a leadership position at a Class I, II, or III railroad, passenger railroad or light rail system
  • Competent in safety processes, efficiency testing, safety guidelines
  • Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations (FRA)
  • Knowledge of train operations, personnel management, labor agreements and regulated work processes
