As the Electronics Repair Center Supervisor you will lead a growing team and assist with repair activities in respective areas to ensure safety of all employees and repair labs. As a working supervisor you will work to coordinate work with other work center supervisors and new product development & obsolescence engineers while monitoring and evaluating daily activities. You will also work to develop new products to be serviced by the work center and partner with new product development & obsolescence engineering and work center manager on requirements for bringing in new work. Your daily work will include interpreting electronic, electrical, and mechanical schematics/drawings to perform repairs and in many cases, support reengineering problem solving. You and your team will perform automated and manual testing on circuit boards and computer systems. As a supervisor you will lead the creation of cost analyses, technical proposals, documentation, and assist with sourcing parts for new product development and complete development and time studies on new or existing equipment to identify measurable opportunities to decrease test and repair times while not having an adverse effect reliability.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Adhering to established safety procedures in Technical Work Center and New Castle Facility
- Supervising and assist with repair activities in respective assigned repair centers
- Ensuring that all risk assessments and training are up to date
- Acting as point of contact for the planning department with scheduling of maintenance and repairs in respective work center
- Coaching and leading day-to-day operations of assigned work group
- Creating and updating weekly and monthly status
- Collaborating on new projects and products specific towards assigned repair cells
- Facilitating training for entire department
- Creating and interpreting electronic, electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings
- Working in Microsoft Office and SAP to create reports and track orders
Your success will be determined by your ability to meet specific objectives tied to safety (EHS/OSHA), new product/project development, productivity and reporting, and training. You will also be collaborating with other departments and customers to assist with specific task completion, failure/root cause analysis, and quality issues while following all electronic, electrical, mechanical and CFC safety requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with electronic, electro-mechanical and HVAC/Galley testing/repairs
- Willingness and Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Rail is preferred
- History of designing, building, and modifying test simulators
- Assembly and installation of new equipment on rail systems
- Soldering skills (through-hole, and SMT) required
- Prior experience as lead, supervisor, or management preferred
Educational Requirements:
- Two or four-year degree from trade school or military electronics/electromechanical course
- IPC 7711/7721 CIS/CIT certification preferred
Working Conditions:
- Primarily day shift operations from 7AM to 3:30PM
- Environmental conditions include but are not limited to dust/dirt, solvents associated with cleaning, solder fume, and working with exposure to the elements
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time
- Constantly operates a computer and other test equipment
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Mental requirements include critical thinking, time management, and analytical thinking with the ability to determine necessity of escalation
